All in all Paris Fashion Week looked pretty great except for the fact that fur is still really popular right now, which makes me want to barf… I choose some of my favorites from the group in the best taste possible.
Enjoy!

Vista La Calle Santiago, Chile

Looking around for some new street fashion blogs from Milan, with no luck, we found the well established VLC (Viste la Calle) from Santiago, Chile. Use google chrome if you must to translate the site but in general, street fashion goes beyond language and that’s why I love it so much.
VLC includes a gallery of street fashion photos, great blogs on the fashion world, trends and inspiration (you may need chrome for this part) and all from a South American perspective. I can’t believe I haven’t come across this site yet in all the years of SFW (that’s us). They’re a great inspiration to what we would like to be, if we didn’t need full time jobs.

Check out their blog, and see more like these great looks on their site.

Packing for the Road

Summer is here once again, and if you are like me then you like to travel. Whether it be a quick weekend jaunt or a luxurious two week vacation I love summer travel. I've always had this kind of whimsical, Holly Golightly fantasy about myself where I impulsively decide to take a road trip. In my daydream I go to my bedroom, grab a small overnight bag throw in articles of clothing, grab my keys, put on my sunglasses and out I go into the great adventure waiting for me...
This, as I mentioned earlier, was a fantasy. Not the impulsive road trip part (Vegas and the California beach are very close to where I live) but easy packing part. I have never just "thrown a few articles into an overnight bag" and quite frankly, what is the use of an overnight bag? Where do you put your extra pair of shoes and hairdryer? And as much as I enjoy being a girl there is a part of me that wishes I could break the male gene code that makes it possible for a guy to throw a bottle of aftershave, socks, and a Maxim magazine into a backpack and be set for a whole weekend. Once again I say, where is his extra pair of shoes?
I have some travel coming up so I looked up some traveling websites and books that would help lessen my load, literally.
Be Realistic About Your Time Away If you are only going for a weekend trip to a friend's house or to the beach you definitely don't need bring along those strappy heels and black cocktail dress. I think most women are like me where I'll think, "Well, Bob and Ida didn't say they'd be having a formal dinner party at their tiny one bed-room apartment, but I guess I'd better bring these just in case!" It is the "just in case" thing that gets us. Bring extra band-aids and aspirin as a just in case. If the clothes don't match the planned vacation then keep the debutante gown at home.
Rolling Not Folding I have found this to be very useful. By carefully rolling the clothes up into almost like a log prevents the unsightly creases that typically occur when folded. For a shirt or blouse I will normally tuck in the sleeves like I'm about to fold it and then just lay it down on a flat surface and roll it from collar to the shirt hem. One obvious note, which pertains to the paragraph above, is that this technique won't work if you crammed eight shirts into a small bag. Know what you are taking first and then roll them up before putting them in the bag.

From Faux to Fabulous

Thinking of J.Lo's jewels, dreaming of La Liz's diamonds, but don't have Blaine Trump's bank account? Fortunately, that no longer matters when it comes to owning jewelry. All that matters is the kind of jewelry you are willing to buy. Whether you are looking for fun jewelry or for something to make your co-workers drool, the world of faux (and not so faux) jewelry can definitely accommodate you.
Faux diamonds used to be looked down on, but as prices seem to get higher and higher and the cost of living is just exploding it is getting harder for Americans to splurge even on the smallest things for themselves. The invention of Cubic Zirconia (CZ), however, has sparked a huge wave of fans who want to have the fancy looking jewelry at about an third of the cost. CZ is a manufactured version of a diamond, basically what is called a man-made diamond. Most often it is created in a laboratory, and then sent to jewelers to be cut into the shape of diamonds. This revolutionary invention has created a billion dollar business.
Let's say you can't afford the four million dollar diamond ring J.Lo recently bought for herself, and frankly most us can't, but that doesn't mean that you can't own one that looks just like it. We may all dream of being superstars, but sadly we don't all end up with those superstar paychecks. Thanks to websites like http://www.inspiredjewelry.com and http://www.czfantasy.com, however, we can all get a little closer to our fantasy.
What these sites offer is simply fun jewelry that you will definitely love. You can own the engagement rings of Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, and Jessica Simpson all for under $100! The average cost of one of these rings is normally $30 and the quality is actually not bad at all. The cut and look is done well enough that if someone gave your ring finger a passing glance they'd wonder which rock star it was that you snagged over the weekend.
If you are looking for something a little more upscale try http://www.ziamond.com where the diamonds are fake, but the gold and silver is real. This may seem silly, you might think that you might as well go all the way and buy a real diamond, but the cubic zirconia used is of a higher quality and a better cut. The real gold and silver on these pieces help to make the diamond settings look much more real and the design more professional looking and keep the price of the jewelry down. A cubic zirconia bracelet only goes for about $399 while something like that at a normal jewelry store can be well over $1000 to $2000.

Hip Hop Fashion Trends

Hip hop fashion trends are not a newcomer to the fashion scene by any means. In fact, this style has been around since the 1980′s, when celebrities like Will Smith and Christopher “Kid” Reid showed youth how it should be done. Of course, hip hop fashion trends have evolved over the past two decades as tastes and styles have changed to correspond with the culture of the time.
The fashion rules the world, its people and the world markets. So prepare your self for the latest fashion trends of this year. When we speak the word fashion the first thing we associate it with is women. The women of the world are really fashion crazy and they go to all extremes to stay with the fashionable trends.
Many people have gone crazy over hip hop; be it the culture, the music, the fashion, or all of these combined. Despite the fact that hip hop has been a trend for decades, many people still love this genre, especially when it comes to fashion.
Hip hop fashion has taken the world by storm. Since the 1970s until today, everyone continues to follow it, and even famous personalities such as Beyonce and Jay-Z are iconic in their hip hop fashion.
Brands like Dickies, Chuck Taylors, and Raiders contributed to the popularization of pants, sneakers, and baseball caps, respectively. Even Chanel joined in, featuring models wearing the classic look of hip hop: black leather jackets and gold chains, or black dresses with silver chains.
Hip hop fashion is everywhere. Hip hop clothing designers have certainly made a mark in today’s fashion. Urban fashion is more than oversize football jerseys, and baggy jeans for men and skintight mini-dresses, and low rise jeans for women.  Actually, urban clothing has evolved over the years to include a wide variety of styles.
The song is very catchy the dance is fun and the style represented goes against the grain entirely, which is why it is so successful. People are always looking for the hot new thing and leopard skinny jeans and fitted t-shirts are it! Or are they? The starters of the new dance craze are have set a trend and as usual the masses will follow.
Hip hop clothes have become more and more popular, representing a fashion which is making a statement. As any other fashion trend, hip hop clothes have changed over the years and they have been adopted all over the world.
Baseball caps are not just a hip hopstyle, but an American classic that will never go away. The only thing that has changed is the fact that an actual baseball team need not be advertised on the hat. They can be plain, make a political statement, or have a brand or band logo on them.
The people who are looking to have a great Christmas in the hip hop style should choose clothing that suits them the best. The Christmas of 2009 has gone and so has the trend and the new 2010 style has been introduced by the best of the fashion giants. The clothes that good for all the people are hip hop style.
There could be a new trend developing among the hip hop crowd. It is a Kevlar lined hoodie. Kevlar is an ultra strong synthetic fiber used in making body armor. It is stronger than steel of the same weight. Unlike steel, it is machine washable, light weight, and flexible. The Kevlar lined hoodie is being promoted by a few companies as being stab-proof and abrasion resistant.
In 1983, Casio designed the G-Shock with one goal in mind – to create the world’s toughest watch. It’s features included a highly unique look, precise time (including the second, minute, hour, day, and month), and triple protection for the parts, module, and case.
Hip hop clothing has taken the US as well as the world by storm. It is not because the style adheres to normal ways of dressing, but because it is unique and different. Dressing to the trend does not always cost a lot of money either.
Now every major fashion house claws to get or maintain market share for their urban wear line. Think about it, where else does a product have hundreds of individuals endorsers (rappers) who indirectly market your products every time they appear before millions.
Hip hop jewelry can be found in gold, platinum and silver. As compared to silver, jewelry made of gold and platinum are more expensive. There are certain features that make hip hop jewelry different from others.

Rush for a Cause

Save the Date: Saturday, August 13, 2011

On what will surely be a cool, dry and sunny Saturday on August 13, 2011, over 100 youth tackle and flag football teams from all over Northeast Ohio, thousands of siblings and parents and hundreds of cheerleaders in their respective Cheerleading Clinics will descend upon the facilities of Brecksville Broadview Heights High School for the Rush for a Cause Family Football Blitz. You will want to Save The Date, Saturday, August 13, 2011, for this Fun Family Day, and this worthy Cause.

All proceeds benefit Rush for a Cause, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to provide community and financial support for qualified tragically and severely injured athletes, to raise awareness for the need, and to promote injury prevention.

The Blitz weekend will be kicked off, no pun intended, on Friday night, August 12, 2011 with the visiting Highland HIgh School Hornets battling the Brecksville Broadview Heights High School BEES in the Hive, with the Varsity, Junior Varsity and 9th Grade football scrimmages.

This Blitz will be a fun filled family day for all ages with Cheerleading Clinics, inflatable games, Bounce Castle, obstacle course, face painting, dunk machine, rock climbing wall, Slient Auction, 50/50 raffle and many more activities, with plenty of food and refreshments.

Entertainment already booked at this early planning stage, with much more to be scheduled over the following months, includes Cheerleading Demonstrations by Cheer World of Broadview Heights and Ultimate Athletics of Ohio, Victory Strength Team, Infusion Crew, and performances by the St. Ignatius Circus, balloon animals by Jingles the Clown and Lady Bug, Magic by Mr. Zap the Wonder Chap and Big Al The Clown Balloon Artist and Highly Favored Mimes.

The NFL Punt Pass & Kick local competition for both boys and girls, ages 6 to 15 years old will also be a major component of Blitz, and Pre-Registration will start on May 3, 2011, at www.nflppk.com

While both tackle and flag teams from Strongsville, Medina, North Royalton, Broadview Heights, Brecksville, East Cleveland Police Athletic League, and CYO have already registered, there is still, for now, plenty of room left for your youth football team, both tackle and flag. As Blitz will definitely fill up to capacity, please don't be left out of this first come, first served event, as field space is limited.

Please visit www.rushforacause.org and sign up today for either football scrimmages or Cheerleading Clinics for Pre-K to 12th grade seniors, while space is still available and you can get get your preferred scrimmage time slot.

Numerous volunteers are also needed for this function, so if you are interested in helping this worthy Cause, go to the website and contact the respective Chairperson of the event for which you are interested in helping.

Scrimmage time is free, but voluntary donations of $5 per Adult, and $2 per Child will be solicited upon entry, and all such donations will each receive two (2) free game tickets for the day's family fun."

Bruce Noggle
